Guidelines for Authors

Vínculo accepts scientific articles, experience reports, theoretical studies, systematic reviews, and book or media reviews. In these submissions, the author’s perspective must be explicit and relevant to their professional background. Texts may be written in Portuguese, English, or Spanish.

Scientific article: the text must include the contextualization of the theme and problem, characteristics of the sample, instruments used for data collection, procedures, results, conclusions, and references.

Experience Report Article: presents intervention strategies with a focus on the detailed description of the procedures carried out, results obtained, and implications for professional practice. Maximum of 6,000 words.

Systematic literature review article: the paper must present the thematic scope, objectives, method, main results, and conclusions, including abstract, abstract in English, resumen in Spanish, figures, tables, and references. These articles do not include a method section as they do not constitute empirical research. Maximum of 6,000 words.

Review: an article presenting a critical analysis of publications that introduce new knowledge, such as books, films, or other recent productions relevant to the journal’s scope. Maximum of 2,000 words.

Registration in the system and subsequent access via username and password are mandatory for submitting manuscripts, as well as for following the ongoing editorial process.

Prerequisites

• Authors submitting a manuscript must not have another manuscript currently under editorial review in this journal.

• Authors must observe the limit of one publication per year. Cases that may qualify as exceptions will be evaluated by the Editorial Team.

• All authors must be registered on the ORCID platform and must provide their ORCID number (e.g., https://orcid.org/0000-0004-6578-0197) on the Title Page. If they do not have one, they must register at https://orcid.org.

Manuscript Processing Procedures

After submission, the manuscript will undergo a preliminary check regarding compliance with the Publication Guidelines. If it does not meet the requirements, the authors will be notified, and the process may be interrupted.

If the manuscript complies with Vínculo guidelines, the article will be forwarded to the Editorial Board for evaluation, preserving the identity of the author(s).

The editorial process follows a double-blind peer review system.

If corrections to the manuscript are required, authors will have up to 30 days to make the necessary revisions. These revisions must be justified in a letter addressed to the Editor, indicating the changes made to the article based on the requests or suggestions in the review report and explaining any suggestions that were not accepted, along with the revised manuscript.

This new version will be re-evaluated by the reviewers, who may approve it or request further revisions, following the same evaluation procedure. If the authors do not submit the revised manuscript and response letter within the stipulated deadline, the editorial process will be closed at any stage of submission.

Approved articles will then be sent to the Publisher, and the authors will be notified regarding approval, rejection, or the need to reformulate any item in the article before publication.

After acceptance notification, the article will be sent for copyediting and formatting standardization, and authors may be asked to make additional adjustments.

Approved articles will be made available in the databases in which Vínculo – NESME Journal is indexed, as well as in any virtual library, website, or indexing system that the Editor considers appropriate. Authors are allowed to self-archive their published articles in institutional or thematic repositories recognized in their fields.

AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Manuscripts submitted to Vínculo must be sent through the journal platform as follows:

1. If the author(s) do not yet have a registration, click here.

2. During registration, the following fields must be completed: name, email, institution (current institutional affiliation), ORCID, and “Biography Summary” (a brief curriculum indicating the highest academic degree, workplace, and function of each author).

3. After registration, the author must access the system.

Important

• The initial manuscript must not contain any information identifying the authors, affiliation, funding agency, or acknowledgments.

• The names of all authors must be entered into the system in the order of authorship. Authors cannot be added later.

• Titles, abstracts, and keywords must appear in the same manuscript file but on a separate page.

Manuscripts submitted to Vínculo must be accompanied by a Letter containing the Declaration of Responsibility and Copyright Transfer. This letter must be signed by all authors and submitted in PDF format along with the other documents.

Publication Standards

The publication standards of Vínculo are based on the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association – APA (7th edition) regarding manuscript presentation style.

Submission Documents

The article, title page, and other documents must be submitted in separate files, according to the specific content required for each:

Title Page

Must contain:

• title in Portuguese, English, and Spanish

• full name of each author

• ORCID

• institutional affiliation

• city, state, and country

• email

• full postal address of the corresponding author

• research funding source (if applicable)

• author notes and acknowledgments (if necessary)

Submission Letter

Signed by all authors and attached in PDF format.

Ethics Committee Approval / Statement

Required in cases of research involving human subjects, according to National Health Council Resolutions 466/12 and 510/16.

Manuscript

Formatting Requirements

• Titles, abstracts, and keywords must be presented in three languages: Portuguese, Spanish, and English.

• Abstracts may contain up to 180 words.

• Keywords: up to 5, separated by semicolons (;).

• At least 3 keywords must come from the DeCS – Health Sciences Descriptors database or from the Psychology Terminology available in BVS-Psi.

Text Formatting

• Font: Times New Roman 12

• Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides

• First-line indentation: 1.25 cm

• Justified text alignment

• Double spacing (also for Abstract, Resumen, and Abstract)

Tables and figures must use single spacing and follow APA guidelines.

Page numbering

Bottom right.

Titles and subtitles

Bold and justified; only the first letter capitalized.

Length

• Articles: maximum 6,000 words (including references, tables, and figures).

• Reviews: maximum 2,000 words.

Notes

Must appear at the end of the text, after the References section.

Figures and Tables

• Insert after the references.

• Indicate the exact insertion point in the text.

• One per page at the end of the document.

• Maximum of five figures or tables.

Citations in the text

Must follow APA Style (7th edition).

References

Must include only works cited in the text and be organized alphabetically according to APA 7th edition.

The final manuscript must be saved in Microsoft Word format.

Ethical Procedures

All researchers reporting data from human or animal research must comply with the National Health Council (CNS) resolutions:

• Resolution 466/2012: approval must be submitted with the documentation upon article submission.

• Resolution 510/2016: the method section must include information about the ethical procedures adopted.

For research conducted in virtual environments, the same criteria apply according to communication SEI/MS – 0019229966 (2021).

In countries where ethics committees do not exist, authors must include a descriptive letter explaining the ethical precautions taken in the study.
