Research and Practices on Groups Published in the Journal Vínculo: documentary case study (2004-2020)

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze reports of experiences and research on group practices published in the journal Vínculo, between 2004 and 2020 (N = 28). This journal is published in Brazil and has the study of groups in its editorial scope. Data was collected through digital spreadsheets and submitted to quantitative analysis. The results showed: constancy in the flow of articles published in the period analyzed (variability of 1 to 4 articles published per year), with a tendency to grow in recent years; quantitative balance between reports of original research and reports of experiences; diversity in the types and objectives of the groups investigated; different scenarios for the development of group work and profiles of participants/users. The analyses highlighted the pedagogical character and the updating of knowledge on group themes, evidencing Vínculo's vocation as a vehicle for the propagation and democratization of knowledge produced about groups. The study indicated gaps in the ways in which the authors of the analyzed productions chose to report their results and experiences and offered support to be considered in publications on group processes.
