From the perspective of the English pediatrician and psychoanalyst D.W. Winnicott, this study aims to present the repercussions of interventions on the capacity for hope among adolescents in foster care. It is a qualitative field study in which Psychoanalytic Discussion Groups were conducted with adolescent girls. The data was analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The results demonstrated improvement in communication, trust, future perspective, and hope among the participants. The meetings mediated by a psychologist contributed to the adolescents' trust. Winnicott emphasizes that for individuals who have experienced deprivation, the predictability of the environment enhances trust in the relationship, as evidenced by the connection with the participants. During the meetings, the adolescents envisioned a positive future, different from the past, believing in their capacity to create, make choices, and find what they need.
